Legal Aid of Manasota is proud to offer a Pro Se Divorce Clinic for clients capable and willing to proceed with filing for divorce on their own with the guidance and assistance from experienced professional family law attorneys. Clinics are taught by skilled and qualified family law attorneys who help to empower clients to proceed with their divorce filing.
The Pro Se Divorce Clinic is a powerful tool for individuals in an uncontested divorce situation. At the clinic, clients are taught how to fill out all necessary pleadings and papers to initiate divorce. They are also given general advice on the dissolution of marriage process by a knowledgeable attorney. Clients are given realistic advice and practice tips with a step-by-step guide on filing for divorce. Recent changes to the law to allow low-income clients to file for indigent status and have their filing fees waived. Certain types of cases are not appropriate for the clinic, including highly contested matters such as child custody and contested time-sharing agreements. - Sarasota Divorce Clinic takes place every month in downtown Sarasota from 5:00 p.m. untill 7:00p.m. The clinic is taught by an attorney and Legal Aid of Manasota will provide the appropriate forms pertinent to your situation.
- Manatee Divorce Clinic takes place on a monthly basis in downtown Bradenton.
